This must have been the quickest photo shoot in Good Girl Gone Glam history! The snow was hitting me in the face and the wind was blowing so forcefully that I couldn't wait to get back in the car. Thank goodness we were down the block from my house! I am ready for some warm weather, but until then, layers it is!
I layered my sleeveless chambray top with my gray v-neck sweater and paired it with my leather pants and patent leather pumps. A perfect combination of preppy and edgy. The statement necklace is also the perfect combination of hard and soft which ties in the whole look! I think it's time to get these pants hemmed.  Next time you see them I am hoping you will see a smoother leg. Off to the tailor!

My Date With JT at MSG

Last week I saw my man Justin Timberlake at Madison Square Garden in New York City.  Since I saw him last November and was not close enough to my liking, I had to go back.  I'm a crazy person when it comes to JT and I needed to be as close as possible.  So, I hawked tickets on Stub Hub the day of the show and waited to come in for the kill.  I knew exactly where I wanted to sit and I waited until the tickets decreased in price.  I bought the tickets about 4 hours before the show and the price dropped one hundred beans! I was so excited I couldn't take myself! He put on an amazing show and I was so close I could see the stubble on his face! Fear not my fellow JT fans, this show has given me the fulfillment I was looking for! If you haven't had a chance to see Justin Timberlake live then the  20/20 Experience World Tour is the perfect opportunity to let the groove get in with JT and the Tennessee Kids! You will not be disappointed!

My favorite trend this winter season was the chunky sweater! It gave fashionistas permission to be comfortable, casual, and warm all winter! This was one of my favorite sweaters which I purchased for $24 at Forever 21. The extra bonus was that it was long enough to wear with leggings! I did add a long tunic underneath for a little extra coverage. This girl doesn't like to flaunt her tooshie in leggings! Hope you are staying warm and hanging tough through the end of the winter! My Daily Essentials

What would I do without these products? Well, my hair would be frizzy, my skin would be dull, and my makeup would never last! These are the 15 items that I would die without if I was stranded on a deserted island forever. Ok, a little dramatic I know, but these products are my equivalent to JLo's entourage!
Out of these 15 essentials, my top 5 are:
1. It's a 10 Miracle Leave In Conditioner- (#10) This stuff is amazing! I would drink it if I could!  I use this in my hair after I get out of the shower and I have towel dried my hair.  It protects my hair from the heat of the hair dryer, flat or curling iron, and makes my hair smooth and silky after it's blown dry. Run, don't walk to your nearest CVS or Target to get your hands on this miracle product!

2. T3 Featherweight 2 High Performance Hair Dryer- (#8) This hair dryer does everything but clean your floors!  This high performance dryer has reduced my drying time by minutes, leaves my hair with a beautiful shine, decreased the amount of frizz, and increased the body and manageability of my hair.  The price is up there, but it's well worth the investment!

3. Clarisonic Skin Care Cleaning System- (#14) I have had bad skin (acne) since the age of 9 and still have breakouts as an adult.  I received the Clarisonic as a birthday gift and over the past 6 months, my skin has never felt better.  Of course I still get breakouts (that unfortunately will never change for me)but, when I use the Clarisonic to wash my face, I know that all of my makeup, dirt and oils from the day are gone! This is another great investment to make and add to your daily skin regimen.

4. Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay (Color-Sin) - (#6) I am a huge fan of Urban Decay Cosmetics. "Sin" is one of the best selling eyeshadow colors they offer. So what did the geniuses at Urban Decay do? They made it into an eyeshadow primer color! I have always used their original eye shadow primer, but when I found the primer in my favorite color it was a home run! This eyeshadow primer keeps my eyeshadow on all day long and it provides a shimmery base as a foundation to my daily eye shadow palette. It's only $20 and each tube lasts me over 6 months so the cost per use is definitely worth the purchase!

5. BeautiControl Tri-Color Bronzing Powder- (#15) This bronzing powder is the bomb diggity! It is fabulous powder for any time of year and gives a fresh glow to your face without looking "Fresh to death" (as tan as the cast members of the Jersey Shore). It is the perfect powder to add some life to your look!

Happy President's Day! Well, I'm a day late but everyone deserves a day off right? Still coming down from your valentine chocolate high? Love is still in the air, I can feel it! 
I have Winter Olympic fever! Maybe that's what's in the air! All I can think about is red, white, and blue! Today I am featuring my new scarf, hand knit by yours truly! Knitting is one of my favorite hobbies and it's fun to create something with your own two hands! Inside my closet

Organizing your closet may be one of the hardest things to do, especially when things come in and out of it all of the time.  Now is the time to go through your wardrobe to see what you want to keep for next winter, what can transition into the spring, what needs to hit the trash, and what can be donated or sold.  
The first step is to get organized.  Once your closet is separated into lounge clothes, sweaters, bottoms, tops, belts, undergarments, basics etc. you can see what you have more of, where your wardrobe may be lacking, or where there is room for some purging. If you are lucky enough to have an attic or storage space in your house, it is smart to have your seasonal clothes stored away until its time for that season. Keeping seasonal clothing separate will give you more room in your closet so you aren't searching through heavy sweaters when you are looking for a tank top during the summer.  
When going through your clothes you have to be realistic.  Is the article of clothing still in style? Are there any visible stains? Does it fit appropriately? Do you have the same shirt in 3 other colors? Have you worn it in the past 6 months? Remember we only wear 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time!!!!! Being truthful to yourself will help the organization and purging process run along smoothly. Purging is my favorite thing to do because that means I have room for new things! (More tips below)
In my closet, I hang layering pieces (i.e., cardigans, vests, blazers) on top of other pieces that compliment them.  This makes it easier for me to decide what I want to wear to work in the morning when I don't feel like planning my outfit the night before.  It gives me a vision of what the outfit will look like together and it also gives me more space in my closet. After I wear something and it comes back from the laundry or the cleaners, I like to put it toward the back of the closet so other clothes can come forward. I know I tend to look at the clothes that are closest to me because when I am in a rush, I don't want to be digging through my closet. This is a good way to make sure that all of your clothes get a fair chance of being worn before they are banished to the purging pile.
Another good tip is reversing your hangers so that the hook is facing you. Once you wear an item and return it to the closet, turn the hanger the correct way.  By the end of the season you will have a clear visual of what you have worn and what you haven't.
When I purged before this post, I found that I had way too many sweatshirts that I do not wear, a few sweaters that were stained or balled, and a few blouses I was kidding myself if I thought I was going to wear again.  Needless to say, the sweatshirts and blouses went into the donation pile and the stained and balled sweaters went to the trash.  I also found a pair of pants that I have only worn a few times because they can only be worn with high high heels. I decided to bring them to the tailor for alterations so that I can wear them with flats and get more use of out them!
If there are any items in your wardrobe that still have the tags on them or items that you've worn once, (Come on! You know you have a few!) these are the items you can sell!  Poshmark, Twice, and Tredup are all great sites where you can sell your never worn or lightly used clothes! 
   One more tip: Get rid of those big clunky wooden hangers, plastic hangers, and wire hangers that you have acquired from the cleaners. The wooden hangers take up too much space, the plastic hangers and the wire hangers do not help to keep the shape of your clothing and are terrible for keeping clothes in place.

What do you get when you mix snake print, argyle, a fringe bag, and bell bottoms? Well, bohemian rhapsody of course! I think I was a hippie in my past life because if I could wear bell bottoms every day I would! After I purchased these bell bottoms, I had them hemmed so that they would cover my shoes but not drag onto the ground. This 70's inspired flare still makes a great fashion statement in 2014!

Ah the good old shirt dress! I have wanted one for a while but never found one that I really fell in love with... until I found this one at the Gap.  It was on sale and it was love at first sight. At home, I scoured my closet to find a belt to make this boxy look a little more form fitting.  I found this striped belt (that is secured closed with a safety pin because there aren't any belt loops) and knew that it would compliment the pattern perfectly! This dress can be worn in the winter,spring, and fall seasons when paired with the appropriate shoes and accessories! Add a cardigan, lose the tights and boots, throw on some flats and poof! it's a brand new look!

The Love of Etsy

Etsy may be the best website in the universe!  You name it, they sell it on Etsy.  Throughout the years, I have shopped on Etsy and have purchased many unique items there. Some purchases were gifts, some were for myself, but no matter what, they all had their own originality.  Here are a few of my favorite items on Etsy:

Cuter Than Words- Banner- This shop has the best banners for any occasion. They can be used for photo props (i.e., Thank you cards, save the date's), birthday parties, and or holiday decor.  I purchased this "Be Merry" banner that hung over my fireplace during the past Christmas season. It was the first thing people commented on when they walked into my home!  The banner came with directions for storage and arrived promptly! My husband wanted to keep it up all year long as a reminder to "Be Merry" all of the time!  

Old Bits of Wood- Natural Photo Shelf- This was actually purchased for me as a gift! I love it and it works well with the rustic decor in my living room.  These shelves are very well made and are very well priced for their quality.  What a great way to add some character to your walls!

Calia and Me Boutique-This is my go-to shop when I need a cute headband for the many cute little girls in my life.  I have purchased many of these headband sets and they arrive with-in the week. They are made well and with love!  I am a forever customer to this shop!

Kraft Shop- Silver Monogram Necklace- This was also purchased for me as a gift from my husband.  It's a great price for a very popular necklace. The original is priced anywhere from $800 to $1200, depending on the designer.  Etsy is a great place to get the look for much less!

Bella Lu Lu Ink- Calling all my Blogger Friends!-  Does your blog need a face lift? Do you need a new logo? Maybe a "Pin it" button for Pinterest? Bella Lu Lu Ink is the place to go! Chelsea, the brains and designer of the shop, is so easy to work with, is attentive, and efficient!  She created the very blog you are looking at right now! She is always super helpful (even after my job was complete) and she has patience of a saint (which is a must have when working with all my neuroses)!  She is very talented and creative so drop by her shop!

One of my guilty fashion pleasures is animal prints. Leopard, zebra, tiger, giraffe, you name it, "I don't care, I love it!" I especially love it in accessories where its not overkill.  I purchased this cape last year in Francesca's and it is my go to piece when a jacket isn't necessary but a little extra something is. Its a neutral color so it goes with so many outfits.  
Can we also talk about this amazing burnt orange leather bag my mother brought home from her trip to Italy this fall?!?!?! The leather is so soft, the style is so hot, and the color is amazing! I am definitely in love!
